Brave Tern above Condor Heavy Services
On February 23, the jack-up vessel Brave Tern towered above Condor Heavy Services on Rotterdam’s Heijplaat. Brave Tern is a purpose-built, heavy lift jack-up vessel that was built for Norwegian company Fred Olsen Windcarrier. At 132 meters long and 39 meters wide, the Brave Tern stood approximately 70 meters above the water.
Fred Olsen Windcarrier deploys the Brave Tern for the installation of offshore windfarms, whereby the ‘jacked-up’ ship, which is normally only a few meters above water level, offers a stable platform for working on offshore wind turbines.
